Chef Julie Adauto, a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso, began a career as a microbiologist, but soon made a decision to follow her passion. After graduating from the Culinary Academy in San Francisco, Chef Adauto became the pastry chef assistant at the prestigious Omni Tucson National Resort, where she fine-tuned her skills for over 3 years.
She returned to El Paso where her career continued to flourish as she honed her skills at fine restaurants, various country clubs, and by participating in ACF competitions. In 2006, she was honored as the Pastry Chef of the Year by the Central Region of the American Culinary Federation. Her talent led her to attend and graduate from the French Pastry School in Chicago.
Upon graduation, and with much consideration, knowing full well the challenges of opening her own business, Chef Julie Adauto launched Orange Peel Pastries, Cakes & More. Named after one of her favorite ingredients, her shop is devoted to placing quality over quantity and to provide a healthy array of vegan, sugar-free, and gluten-free options. She shares her knowledge and gives back to her community by participating in charity functions. Most recently, the Ronald McDonald House Charities, Vegan Society of El Paso, Rebuilding Together El Paso and the Rotary Club.
